Clinical and Research Background

Dr. Chen’s main research interest is in understanding pathogenesis of cancer using zebrafish and mammalian experimental systems. Her current research focuses on dissecting cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying pediatric rhabdomyosarcoma, in particular the key events driving tumor progression, relapse and metastasis. Her laboratory utilizes chemical genetics, gene editing technology and functional genomics in human cell-based assays, zebrafish and xenograft mouse models to identify and characterize key driver events of rhabdomyosarcoma.

Dr. Chen’s clinical research interest is in bone and soft tissue pathology.
