Celebrating Medical Laboratory Professionals Week

The Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology is excited to celebrate Medical Laboratory Professionals Week from April 24 - 30, 2022. Lab Week is an annual celebration of all laboratory personnel. They all play a key role in healthcare and the care of nearly every patient. Accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and application of advancements in medical technology would not be possible without the participation and expertise of the medical laboratory.

There are over 2000 of us (physicians, directors, residents, fellows, technologists, technicians, phlebotomists, medical assistants, and support staff) on the front lines collecting and processing specimens, conducting behind-the-scenes diagnostic testing and world-renown research, and providing interpretation and administrative services to support our UW Medicine mission, “To Improve the Health of the Public”. Please take the time to thank and celebrate the contributions of our laboratories and staff in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.
