"Challenges and Opportunities in the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine: Reflections on 10 Years in National Leadership of the ASCP"

 

Dr. Melissa Upton, Emeritus Professor of Pathology at University of Washington, is the Immediate Past-President of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), a 100,000 member organization of both pathologists and non-MD laboratory professionals.  She will discuss a number of challenges that face our profession at the national and international level, including strategic, workforce, regulatory, and global challenges. This presentation is geared to pathologists and laboratory professionals, to provide perspective to enhance individuals in their career planning and to foster awareness of the necessity to work collectively to address the threats and opportunities that we face.
