Clinical and Research Background

Dr. Rida Hasan is a UW assistant professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. She is an associate medical director for the Transfusion Services Laboratories at UW Medical Center - Montlake and Harborview Medical Center. She originally completed her training in pediatrics and completed a pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship where she focused on patients with bleeding and clotting disorders. She provides clinical consultation for patients with complex transfusion needs, oversees the transfusion services laboratory and is involved in the education of residents. Her clinical interests include pediatric/neonatal transfusion, hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn and coagulation/hemostasis.
