Interpretation
Method
Cultured on Chromogenic agar which is incubated for 72 hours and Salt Sabouraud Dulcitol broth which is incubated for 5 days and subcultured for an additional 2 days. TAT for a negative culture in 7 days.

Collection
Screen for C. auris using an ESwab from a composite bilateral axilla/groin collection or nares.
Amies transport swab is also accepteble.
Universal transport media is not acceptable.
Handling Instructions
Transport swabs at room temperature. Specimens will be rejected if received after 48 hours.
