Emicizumab Level
General Information
Lab Name
Emicizumab Level
Lab Code
EMILVL
Epic Name
Emicizumab Level
Description
This assay measures the concentration of emicizumab (Hemlibra) in plasma using a modified one-stage Factor VIII assay calibrated against emicizumab. The steady-state trough plasma concentration of emicizumab is reported to be approximately 25-80 ug/mL (See: Adamkewicz J, Chen D. Effects and Interferences of Emicizumab, a Humanised Bispecific Antibody Mimicking Activated Factor VIII Cofactor Function, on Coagulation assays. Thromb Haemost. 2019 July;119:1084-1093)
The presence of endogenous Factor VIII could cause a small apparent increase in emicizumab concentration.
