General Information

Lab Name

Fungal Antibody Panel, CSF (Sendout)

Lab Code

RCFAP

Epic Name

Fungal Antibody Panel, CSF (Sendout)

External Test Id

3000230

Description

Ordering Recommendation: This test detects antibodies to Aspergillus, Coccidioides, and Histoplasma by complement fixation and Blastomyces by immunoassay. Not recommended as a standalone test for the diagnosis of fungal infection of the central nervous system. Pathogen-specific tests are preferred. For Coccidioides only, refer to test Coccidioides Antibodies, CSF (Sendout) [RCCOCC].

Test Algorithm: If Blastomyces antibodies are equivocal or positive by immunoassay, then Blastomyces Antibody by ID, CSF [RCBLID] will be added at additional charge.
