Clinical and Research Background
Dr. Lockwood joined the Department of Laboratory Medicine as an Associate Director of the Genetics and Solid Tumor Diagnostics Laboratory at the University of Washington Medical Center in 2014. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry and the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics. After obtaining her PhD at the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Lockwood completed postdoctoral fellowship training in Clinical Chemistry and Clinical Molecular Genetics at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. Her interests include the development and application of molecular methods for the detection of genomic alterations in genetic disease, hematologic malignancies, and solid tumors. Dr. Lockwood has also been active in the design and implementation of educational resources related to training in genomic medicine. She is currently involved in several research studies, including several cell-free DNA grants, the Seattle Flu Study, and the NIH AllofUs program.
