This role performs complex procedures for histology and immunohistochemistry, including processing, embedding, cutting, and staining all types of tissue specimens.

Medical Lab Scientist 2: Hematology (UWMC, Days, Full Time)

This role performs clinical lab tests used in the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of pathological conditions. This role provides support and assistance to the Hematology MLS Lead in overseeing QA/QC, instrument maintenance, procedures, competency assessments, training, and/or scheduling of MLS 1 staff. 

Medical Lab Scientist 2: Molecular Microbiology (UWMC, Days, Full Time)

Open to department employees only: This role performs various PCR tests for the identification of bacteria, yeast, and parasites; performs QC and validates results; assists in teaching and training of MLSs, students, post docs, and fellows; and develops bench assignments, among other duties.

Medical Lab Scientist 2: Point of Care Testing (HMC, Days, Full Time)

This role reviews QC data of all testing sites on a monthly basis and provides problem-solving sessions and training as applicable; maintains test menus for each site; assists the POCT Leadership Committee in determining new methodology; and helps prepare sites for inspections by regulatory agencies, among other duties. 

Medical Lab Scientist Lead: Transfusion Medicine (HMC, Days, Full Time)

This role performs and oversees the testing of blood and blood products, provides leadership and oversight to the division, oversees QA activities, exercises expertise in the operation and troubleshooting of lab equipment, and trains new staff, among other duties. 

Pathologists’ Assistant (UWMC, Days, Full Time)

This role ensures that our patients receive top-tier pathology care by providing critical technical, educational, and operational support in the Gross Room and Frozen Section areas.
