Images of Barrett’s esophagus with Intramucosal adenocarcinoma

We like to see individual malignant cells in the lamina propria before rendering the diagnosis of intramucosal adenocarcinoma.  A low power impression of marked glandular crowding makes us suspicious of invasion.

Complex glandular architecture that can make it difficult to see invasion.

Additional examples we would interpret as intramucosal adenocarcinoma.
