Pathology Research Services Laboratory

The Pathology Research Services Laboratory at UW Medicine Department of Pathology provides expertise in a broad spectrum of morphologic studies required for interpretation of disease processes.

Our laboratory provides routine histology and immunohistochemistry services at reasonable prices. We now maintain labs both in the Health Sciences Building (Room C411, open Wednesday and Thursday) and on the South Lake Union Campus (750 Republican Room E128). To submit samples, please fill the appropriate Service Request Form, and for pricing, contact our lab supervisor, Kelly Hudkins (kellylee@uw.edu) at 543-6746.

The primary morphologic techniques offered by the Pathology Research Services Laboratory, on a fee for service basis, include paraffin, frozen and electron microscopy tissue processing and embedding, routine histology including special histologic stains, tissue enzyme histochemistry, immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence, TUNEL staining, digital photomicrography, computerized quantitative morphometric analysis, and ancillary techniques (such as competitive inhibition assays and Western blotting necessary to ensure the specificity and sensitivity of reagents).

Scientists and staff in our lab have many years of experience and expertise in all of these techniques, and are available to help you in the planning and execution of your research projects.
